Every quarter we sit down with the numbers, the site reports, and the conversations from the field, and try to make sense of what the year has actually looked like. This is the version of that reflection we felt comfortable writing down.What changed on the map.
Until this year every WaterStarter site was in Kajiado. Mbooni, in Makueni County, is the first project outside that footprint. Working with KIFFWA on the community side has taught us a lot about how the model has to bend to fit a new place, and about the parts we should not compromise on.Uptime is holding.
The working promise across the network is that no site stays down longer than 72 hours. The year came close to that on average, and every serious outage was resolved inside three days.What we are working on next.
- A regular quarterly cadence for the community health follow up campaigns.
- Per site financials for the operational sites, published to the franchisee, the community and the platform at the same time.
- Rolling the scenario planner out to the county water officers we work with.
Little by little, a little becomes a lot. The numbers on this page did not arrive in a week. They arrived one repair, one launch and one honest conversation at a time.
