Water crisis; the biggest short-term threat!
Nitrogen crisis? Climate crisis?
The biggest short-term threat to humanity and our ecosystem is the water crisis. With our personal water footprint in the Western world, there is simply not enough water for the 10 billion people of tomorrow.
There are smart solutions in the field of storage, less use and reuse, but without pricing water at its value, the necessary changes will get traction (too) late. As is often the case, the poorest will be the first to suffer, while access to clean water is at the heart of mitigation of the problems that contribute to the climate crisis.
